ATLANTA (Feb. 6, 2026) — Veterans for America First (VFAF) released a new interview featuring DHS/ICE attorney Evan Draim, joined in conversation by VFAF National Ambassador Shayne Snavely. Snavely is a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division and currently serves as Vice President of the VFAF Virginia State Chapter. He is also known for his involvement in the early 2015 Veterans for Trump grassroots effort, which helped organize veteran-led support networks during that election cycle.
Stan Fitzgerald has produced over 100 episodes of Real News with Lucretia Hughes for VFAF and is building a media platform for the organization.
Draim serves as an ICE attorney in Georgia through the agency’s Atlanta-area legal operation. His role is within the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA), the legal component that supports ICE enforcement activity and represents the agency in immigration-related proceedings. He has also appeared in public civic and political settings in Georgia, including a January 2021 event where he was listed as a featured speaker under the name “ICE Attorney Evan Draim.”
In the Southeast, ICE field activity in the region is administered through the Atlanta Field Office, which lists responsibility for Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Within that footprint, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) focuses on enforcing immigration law with an emphasis on cases tied to public safety, national security, and border security. Operationally, that can include field enforcement actions, detention coordination, and removal execution under federal immigration procedures.
Because the Atlanta Field Office covers multiple states, typical activities in the region may include locating and arresting removable noncitizens, supporting detention and case processing, and supervising individuals on ICE monitoring programs, including reporting requirements and check-ins.
From the legal side, an OPLA attorney working in the Atlanta area commonly supports immigration enforcement by handling administrative immigration litigation, including matters in immigration court. The role also includes advising ICE personnel on legal questions that arise during enforcement, custody decisions, and operational planning, along with coordinating legal positions connected to immigration-court case posture.
VFAF has maintained a public focus on border security policy and lawful immigration enforcement. During the 2022–2023 period, the organization’s advisory activity included Tom Homan, aligning with VFAF’s emphasis on law-enforcement-supportive approaches to border and immigration issues.
